6. V-Score Disclaimer

The V-Score (VeriVote Score) is a composite metric calculated from up to 80 evidence-based indicators across five weighted pillars: Character & Integrity, Institutional Accountability & Transparency, Public Engagement & Inclusivity, Policy Development & Strategic Vision, and Professional Competence & Execution Ability.

Key limitations you must understand

  • V-Scores are not an instruction to vote for or against any candidate.
  • V-Scores reflect the quality and availability of evidence at the time of evaluation. Scores may be revised as new evidence emerges.
  • Some indicators carry a Limited Confidence rating where source data is incomplete. This is disclosed on every candidate profile.
  • Trust Coefficients may reduce a candidate's V-Score if active integrity investigations are confirmed. These adjustments are clearly documented.
  • The V-Score does not capture a candidate's future performance, personal character, or suitability for office in all its dimensions.
  • VeriVote is not responsible for decisions made solely on the basis of a V-Score.

For a full explanation of the scoring methodology, see the How Scoring Works page.

7. Candidate Data

Candidate profiles published on VeriVote are compiled from publicly available records, official government databases, and evidence submitted by candidates through the Candidate Response Protocol.

7.1 Accuracy and Corrections

VeriVote makes reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy but cannot guarantee that all information is free from error or fully current. Candidates who identify factual inaccuracies in their profiles should follow the Candidate Response Protocol. Verified corrections will be applied within the timelines set out in that protocol.

7.2 Public Interest Basis

The publication of candidate evaluation data is grounded in the public interest in transparent, informed elections, consistent with Section 30(g) of the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019. Candidates seeking public office hold positions of significant public trust, which warrants a higher degree of public scrutiny. This basis does not permit unlimited processing and VeriVote applies the minimum data necessary for each indicator.

Candidates wishing to submit evidence, request corrections, or challenge a V-Score component should use the formal Candidate Response Protocol. Informal or social media pressure will not affect scores.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, text, graphics, data compilations, and the V-Score methodology on the Platform are the intellectual property of the AHV Initiative (VeriVote) or are used under licence, and are protected by Kenyan copyright law and applicable international treaties.
